DUBROVNIK AIRPORT - Ultimate guide
One of the major hubs in Croatia is Čilipi Airport, known by most as Dubrovnik International Airport.
It's a great little airport, not huge in international standards but is great for the number of passengers that travel through this hub.
Well run with friendly staff.
It has free WiFi but remember at the moment this only lasts for 15mins which is a shame as most airports are free for at least 1 hour so hopefully in time they may improve this service.
Plenty of seating for an airport which make a refreshing change. Didn't see many charging points for your devices so is worthwhile noting this before you arrive.
Toilets were plentiful and clean and well sign posted.
Sadly not that many retail outlets, however there is a good sized duty free shop selling all the usual things you like to buy :)
Eateries are also limited and the offerings can seem quite expensive for airport standards.
Check-in area was very pleasant and flowed very well, it can get crowded though in the summer months.
Easy to get to security screening - nice friendly staff in there but was a quiet time of the day when we passed through.
Departure lounge had plenty of seating and had good signage for the departure gates.
Arriving into Dubrovnik airport was very smooth. We were transported by coach from the aircraft to the terminal only because the airbridges were taken up by other aircraft.
Passing through customs was very straight forward and easy to get to the luggage carousels - we did have a little wait this time for our luggage but wasn't to bad. Good clean toilets in baggage reclaim - easy to read screens to find your baggage belt.
A soon as you have all your luggage simply locate the exit doors where you will find your driver waiting for you.
If for any reason your luggage is delayed, your driver will wait for you so don't worry - they also monitor your flight so they meet you in good time.
If we had to give Dubrovnik airport a rating out of five we would probably give it 4 - it's a nice airport but just lacking in more eateries and retail but overall, very nice experience.
