Alghero airport also known as Alghero Fertilia airport is one of three airports serving the Island of Sardinia.
It is a seasonal airport operating in the summer months for airlines such as Ryanair, Wizz air, Vueling and also Easyjet.
It’s a nice little airport, functional and does the job. Its actually located more to the small village of Fertilia than Alghero but its in a perfect northern location to the island.
Arriving in to the airport is straight forward, there are two carousels for handling incoming baggage which do get to the belts in a timely manor.
Once past customs and into the arrivals area you will find car rental desks near the exit.
There a couple of shops and a bar landside if you need anything before you head out of the airport. If you need some cash there are a couple of ATMs located close by.
Outside you will find the taxi ranks and also a bus stop which operates orange buses travelling to Alghero city the others head down to Sassari and Cagliari.
When departing from the airport just be aware that there isn’t too much to do airside so most people leave it as long as possible to go through security.
Security itself is quite small and you quickly pass through this area. Adequate seating in the departure lounge but be aware if there are more than three flights departing they can quickly be taken up.
If flying back to the UK you normally leave from gate one.
There is also a team for PRMs (passengers with reduced mobility) which give assistance around the airport, please note you do need to pre-book this service either with your airline or contacting the airport itself.
